Installation

Method 1: WordPress Dashboard (Recommended)

  1. Download the plugin .zip file above
  2. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Add New
  3. Click "Upload Plugin" at the top
  4. Choose the downloaded .zip file and click "Install Now"
  5. Click "Activate Plugin"

Method 2: FTP Upload

  1. Download and extract the plugin .zip file
  2. Upload the nitro-image-optimizer folder to /wp-content/plugins/
  3. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Plugins
  4. Find "Nitro Image Optimizer" and click "Activate"

Configuration

After activation, configure the plugin:

  1. Go to Settings → Nitro Optimizer
  2. Enter the API endpoint (provided during setup)
  3. Enter your API key (get one at nitrocompress.com/api-key)
  4. Choose quality settings (recommended: 85 for balanced)
  5. Select which formats to generate (WebP recommended)
  6. Click "Save Changes"
